As an Indiana University Bachelor of Science (BS) in Elementary Education student at IUPUC, your degree will lead to a general license to teach kindergarten through grade six.

To meet degree requirements under the Rules for Education Preparation and Accountability (REPA) program, you must also complete an area of concentration.

Helping children master the fundamentals of math in elementary school is critical for higher math success later in their K–12 careers. If you enjoy the basics of numbers—like number sequences, addition, subtraction, patterns, multiplication, division, time, money, fractions, and decimals—consider a concentration in mathematics.

With a concentration in this area, you’ll provide instruction that takes the mystery out of math through creative curriculum that will help each child progress at his or her own pace and identify areas which need improvement.
