Biographical Statement

Allisha Beerwart is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Special Needs Education in the Division of Education at IUPUC. Prior to joining IUPUC, Allisha was a special education teacher in Indiana, as well as Virginia. She has over 10 years of experience working with children and adults with disabilities in various settings (i.e., educational and vocational). Allisha has extensive experience with adapting classroom materials, differentiating instruction, and goal writing. She has attended various trainings to hone these skills. As a special education teacher, Allisha's area of interest included finding new ways and methods for adapting instructional practices for her students. She believes that learning is optimal for students with disabilities when they have the right materials and instructional accommodations.
