Health Services Administration

If you seek a rewarding career in health care, earn an Indiana University B.S. in business combined with our new health services administration (HSA) concentration.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics, the demand for medical and health services managers is expected to grow by 23 percent through 2022. With a median salary of $88,580, students who pursue employment in health services administration are likely to enjoy excellent career advancement opportunities as well as a high level of personal satisfaction.

Health services professionals develop, implement, manage, and administer programs, services, and policies that protect human health, promote wellness and healthy lifestyles, prevent disease, and deliver medical care. A wide variety of positions are available in both public and private organizations serving families, employees, and communities locally, nationally, and internationally.

As a student in this program, your studies will combine business management principles, theories, and applications with specialized knowledge in health systems. You will explore core areas and topics required to reach strategic goals and effectively manage human and financial resources in the health services industry.

Started in the fall of 2014, the 18-credit HSA concentration is a great option for:

  • Current or prospective students who seek employment in the health care and medical fields
  • Pre-nursing students who are interested in alternatives to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
  • RNs and other health care specialists who are interested in managerial and administrative careers
