IUPUC has developed a strategic plan in response to the institutional environment and needs of our service region. A dynamic document, the strategy is subject to continuous review and modification as goals are achieved or new needs identified.

Ad hoc committees reporting to IUPUC's Board of Advisors (BOA) are focused on five strategic areas.

The Programs Committee advises IUPUC about new programs reflecting regional market needs.

  • The committee helps the university be in tune with the voice of the local environment as it develops and refines its academic program strategies.
  • Heads of IUPUC's academic divisions engage this committee to discuss challenges within existing programs.
  • Committee members offer guidance prioritizing new program recommendations.

Master Planning

The Campus Master Plan Committee advises IUPUC regarding short- and medium-term issues and priorities associated with:

Municipal & State Government Relations

This committee advises IUPUC about state and local legislative and administration issues.

  • It keeps campus leadership updated on news and developments in governmental agencies in the area, including information that impacts IUPUC’s strategic plans.
  • Facilitates university efforts to build relationships with key representatives at all levels of government.
  • Members have a thorough understanding of IUPUC’s strategy to perceive government connections that could be beneficial and should be established.

Future Growth & Development

The Campus of the Future Committee helps IUPUC develop its strategy for achieving official campus status that is efficient and builds on the strength of the IU and PU branding and systems.

  • The committee is ad hoc but will exist for several years.
  • It assists the university in discerning and understanding local and regional perceptions about the campus, navigating the Indiana University system, and maintaining a high level of awareness about political issues and developments at the state level that are material to IUPUC’s status.

Development & Funding

The ad hoc Campaign Committee comprises a core BOA leadership group that:

  • Helps guide key IUPUC personnel in conducting a comprehensive university needs assessment to establish funding priorities and a feasibility study.
  • Prior to launch of IUPUC’s next development campaign, this core group will be expanded to a wider group of volunteers who are not on the BOA but who will assist the director of development and vice chancellor in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gift donors, including peer reviews, personal visits, signed solicitation letters, and co-hosted events to help secure private funds from individuals, foundations, and corporations to support established funding priorities and key strategic initiatives.
